The formal principle. Metaball is a term from digital modelling: volumes that, as they approach each other, merge into one continuous body instead of staying separate. The piece is literally that — spheres that grew too close to stay individual, with the mark of the fusion visible on the surface.

FAQ

Is it plastic?
It’s PLA, a polymer made from a renewable plant source — it doesn’t come from petroleum. That is what allows a piece at this scale to exist: the same form in silver would weigh over 400 g and be impossible to wear.

If it’s biodegradable, will it fall apart over time?
No. PLA only breaks down in industrial composting, under controlled heat and humidity. In a drawer and in everyday wear, it is stable for years.

Is it easy to close on my own?
Yes. The clasp is magnetic — bring the two ends together and it closes. No mirror, no fumbling behind your neck, no asking for help.

I have a pacemaker. Can I wear it?
The piece contains a magnet. Anyone with a pacemaker or defibrillator should consult their doctor first.

Can it get wet?
No. Take it off to shower and swim, and keep it away from pools and the sea. The cord is waxed cotton and shouldn’t be soaked.
