A 7-centimetre brooch that weighs 13 grams and doesn’t make holes in your clothes. Those are the two reasons brooches left most people’s wardrobes: a metal one is heavy enough to distort the drape, and the pin leaves a permanent hole in silk and fine jersey.

The Radia solves both. The clasp is magnetic — one magnet on each side of the fabric, no pin — and the piece is light enough to fasten on a silk blouse without it pulling.

For those who stopped wearing brooches. It’s the piece that brings the category back: you can wear it on loose knitwear, on a linen lapel, on a fine shirt, on a jersey dress. Places where a pin brooch is unthinkable.

The formal principle. The structure is organised from a centre, with elements radiating in angular balance. The repetition is regular but the perimeter is irregular — which gives the piece a silhouette that changes as the light falls on it.

FAQ

Is it plastic?
It’s PLA, a polymer made from a renewable plant source — it doesn’t come from petroleum. That is what lets a 7-centimetre brooch weigh 15 grams.

Will it make holes in my clothes?
No. The clasp is magnetic: one magnet sits inside the piece and another behind the fabric. You can wear it on silk, fine jersey and knitwear without leaving a mark.

Does it hold well?
Yes, on fabrics of normal weight. On very thick fabric — a heavy wool coat, leather — the distance between the magnets increases and the hold weakens.

I have a pacemaker. Can I wear it?
The piece contains a magnet. Anyone with a pacemaker or defibrillator should consult their doctor first.

If it’s biodegradable, will it fall apart over time?
No. PLA only breaks down in industrial composting, under controlled heat and humidity. In a drawer and in everyday wear, it is stable for years.

How long until it arrives?
If it’s in stock, it ships the same day. Made to order, it’s ready in 1 to 3 business days.

Details

Will it make holes in my clothes?

No. The brooch closes with magnets: one part sits on top of the fabric and the other underneath.

I have a pacemaker. Can I wear it?

The clasp is magnetic. If you have a pacemaker or another implanted device, talk to your doctor first.

How long until it leaves the studio?

Ready-to-ship pieces leave as soon as payment is confirmed. Made-to-order pieces take one to three business days.

Is this plastic?

It doesn't come from petroleum. The piece is printed in PLA, a plant-based polymer — the same material across all of the studio's production.

Can it get wet?

Best not. Take the piece off to wash your hands, shower or swim, and leave it out of the pool and the beach. Store it dry, away from sunlight.

Can it take heat?

Up to 50 °C. Above that, PLA softens — the dashboard of a closed car in the sun goes over 60 °C, so don't leave the piece there.
