You adjust the Coil to your neck with your hands. The elements are separate, joined by cotton thread — the thread gives, the elements follow — so there’s none of the sizing worry that haunts any necklace bought without trying it on. It adapts to you, not the other way round.
No brand working in metal can promise that, and it’s the same family of advantage that runs through all of KUBOLAB: the piece does what it does because it isn’t metal.
For those who want a single piece. The Coil fills the whole neckline — two loops of spiral elements joined by cotton thread — and makes any other accessory unnecessary. It’s for someone who dresses in neutrals and wears one strong piece, or who wants to turn a white T-shirt into an outfit.
The clasp is magnetic: bring the ends together and it closes. No mirror, no fumbling, no asking for help.
The formal principle. The spiral is one of the oldest forms — shell, fern, galaxy — and it always stands for growth that never repeats and never stops. In the Coil it gains a regular cross-section and a constant pitch, which gives the piece the reading of a technical object without erasing its organic origin.
Is it plastic?
It’s PLA, a polymer made from a renewable plant source — it doesn’t come from petroleum. That is what allows a piece at this scale to exist: the same form in silver would weigh over 400 g and be impossible to wear.
If it’s biodegradable, will it fall apart over time?
No. PLA only breaks down in industrial composting, under controlled heat and humidity. In a drawer and in everyday wear, it is stable for years.
Is it easy to close on my own?
Yes. The clasp is magnetic — bring the two ends together and it closes. No mirror, no fumbling behind your neck, no asking for help.
I have a pacemaker. Can I wear it?
The piece contains a magnet. Anyone with a pacemaker or defibrillator should consult their doctor first.
Can it get wet?
No. Take it off to shower and swim, and keep it away from pools and the sea. The thread that joins the elements is cotton and shouldn’t be soaked.
How long is it?
The photos show the piece being worn, which is the best reference for where it sits on the body. If you have any doubts about the length before buying, talk to us.
How long until it arrives?
If it’s in stock, it ships the same day. Made to order, it’s ready in 1 to 3 business days.
Does it go over my head?
The inside diameter is 16 cm. To put it on, open it at the magnetic clasp — it’s simpler and doesn’t strain the piece.
Can I adjust it without breaking it?
Yes. The elements are separate and joined by cotton thread: you settle the drape with your hands and nothing breaks. It isn’t a bendable piece — it’s the thread that adjusts, not the elements. Just don’t force it beyond its natural give.
A magnetic clasp, printed here in the studio. The cord is waxed cotton.
The clasp is magnetic. If you have a pacemaker or another implanted device, talk to your doctor first.
Ready-to-ship pieces leave as soon as payment is confirmed. Made-to-order pieces take one to three business days.
It doesn't come from petroleum. The piece is printed in PLA, a plant-based polymer — the same material across all of the studio's production.
Best not. Take the piece off to wash your hands, shower or swim, and leave it out of the pool and the beach. Store it dry, away from sunlight.
Up to 50 °C. Above that, PLA softens — the dashboard of a closed car in the sun goes over 60 °C, so don't leave the piece there.
For now, the website only ships to addresses in Brazil. For an order from abroad, write to studio@kubolab.com.br or message us on WhatsApp: we arrange shipping and payment case by case.
